PRESS: Rostelecom to close 7 branches, save up to 5 bln rbl/yr
MOSCOW, May 21 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom plans to shut down seven micro-regional branches, which will facilitate the management structure of the company and save up to 5 billion rubles per year, business daily Vedomosti reported on Friday, citing sources.
The branches in question currently control the company’s business on the spot – they coordinate the marketing, technical, purchasing policies, and they establish commercial relations with the top clients.
A source told the daily the decision on liquidation of the branches will be announced to their staff soon. Rostelecom does not disclose the exact amount of the personnel of the branches, but one of the sources counted them at several thousands.
